Planning Your Spring Wedding 2022

Planning your spring wedding but not sure where to start? Here are some of the things to think about when planning your spring wedding. This is a great time to get married and it is a very romantic time of the year to get married. There are many reasons why to love spring but mostly because it is the season of new beginnings.

In Season Flowers:

When you are planning your wedding at any time of the year, it is ideal to work with the flowers that are in season at the time. You will get the best quality of flowers when they are in season and this is a more sustainable way of choosing your flowers, some popular colours that you might want to keep in mind as these are the in vogue colours for 2022 and these are blues, whites and other neutrals. Bring in some greens. Here are some flowers that are in season during spring:

  • Tulips

  • Hyacinths

  • Iris's

  • Anemones

  • Bluebells

  • Peonies

Two of my personal favourites are Peonies and Tulips.

Spring Colours:

Spring has a lovely to feel to it on its own, however; you can enhance the feeling by choosing the right colours which will uplift your mood and create that romantic atmosphere.

  • Blues & Whites

  • Neutrals

  • Lavender

  • Spring Green

  • Primrose

  • Dusky Peach

  • Peach Melba

  • Apple Mint

  • Hyacinth

  • Cornflower blue

These are just some of my favourites. There are many other colours that you can include in your colour palette and this inspiration you can find on Pinterest or by chatting to your design and decor stylists.

Seasonal Spring Wedding Menu Ideas:

When it comes to planning your wedding menu, it is always worth keeping in mind that choosing foods that are in season are best. I suggest you discuss this with your caterer as they will definitely know what food are in season. This is the most sustainable way of choosing your menu and it can be the most flavoursome.

  • Think seasonal veg like fresh peas, asparagus, fresh tomatoes,

  • Think about your seasonal spring fruit.

  • Think light meals like salads, anti pasti.

  • Charcuterie - think cold meats, this goes with the idea of anti pasti

  • Think about fresh fish, this is lovely and light and you can find seasonal fish.

  • Other things to consider when planning your spring menu such as although spring means warmer weather, this isn't always the case so food that is slightly warmer is always a good idea to keep in mind. Think warm tomato tarts, light pasta dishes (think pea tortalini's with a light cream sauce)

Spring Cocktails:

Signature cocktails are a great way to add that unique spirit to your day. Signature cocktails also mean that you can create a certain special something to your day. Think about the colours your cocktails will be once made. Think about how heavy or light they might be to drink.

  • Gentian White lady with Edible Spring Flowers

  • Elderflower & Spring herb cooler

  • Pink Lady

  • Spring Buzz

  • Orange Blossom Gin Cocktail

  • Raspberry Peach Champagne Cocktail

What To Keep In Mind:

  • Keep your wedding budget in mind. Your budget will help guide you through your spring wedding planning.

  • Although spring brings slightly warmer days the evenings can still be cold. It is worth keeping in mind that you might want to think about what you can do to keep your guests warm. Have you thought about things like warmer blankets to be available and other elements to make your evening more cozy.

  • Spring is an incredibly romantic season, there is so much that can be done to create a lovely romantic atmosphere.
