Top 10 Tips on Planning your Wedding Like A Pro

Recently got engaged?

This is an exciting journey for you, and I am sure you can’t wait to start planning your wedding. Knowing where to start can be a bit overwhelming but this is ok. I have you covered. Here are my top 10 tips on planning your wedding with ease.

1. Start by determining your budget. This is an important step and one that you will find is a common theme from me. You need to determine how much you want to spend, how much you can spend and how much you still have to save for your wedding. The aim of this is to make sure that you don’t go into debt for your wedding.

2. Determine your wedding style- what kind of wedding do you want? Are you aiming to have a classical elegant wedding or a luxury modern wedding? These are just some examples on the style of wedding. This will help you work out what type of venue and other suppliers you want.

3. Make sure you have spoken to your marriage official, and you know what you need to do to make your wedding legal. You might need to arrange things to make it legal.

4. When you start searching for your suppliers make sure you ask them all the relevant questions that you need to make sure that they are the right suppliers for you. Questions should include things like "what their health and safety procedures are" or "are they insured?"

5. When you start searching for your inspiration make sure that you keep things organised (If using Pinterest have separate boards for the different aspects).

6. When liaising with your suppliers make sure you have everything in written confirmation because things get forgotten and you could find that on the day things you thought you had arranged are not there on the day.

7. When making your decision on caterers and cake makers, make sure you do tastings. This is so important for your big day. Don’t avoid this step. You don’t know what their work will be like on the day. You may also find that something my sound like a good idea in terms of flavours but when you try it you don’t like it.

8. Make sure that you find out who of your guests have allergies. This is so important for your caterers to know. The last thing you need is for a guest to go into anaphylactic shock.

9. Stay true to you and your tastes. Don’t let anyone else influence you into doing something that you don’t feel comfortable doing. If a colour palette is not working for you, don’t do it.

10. Avoid that stress on your wedding and hire a wedding coordinator. If you do your research properly then whomever you hire will do exactly what you need them to do and will handle any “what if” situations. A good wedding coordinator will handle everything for you and will allow you to relax and enjoy your day.
